We have teamed up with Sweet Hockey Training. This online video training module will be available for one full year as part of the player registration fees. We are utilizing this program because to offer this program it will make our hockey players better!!
During practices, there isn’t time to spend on stationary stickhandling work. Sweet Hockey is a way for players to have a specific, progressive training program to work on this skill set. Each drill has a video demonstration that will show the player proper technique, posture, and an explanation of how this drill can be utilized in the game of hockey.
To access the video library, login with the same NGIN account used to register. The link to Sweet Hockey will appear on the top navigation. From there you can link to the videos, training plans or Chat with Lance.
FAQ
Can I use the same Sweet Hockey/Online Stickhandling login from last year?
No. The Sweet Hockey Training module has been integrated into the NGIN website. You will need to login with the same NGIN account that was used to register your players. Once logged in, the Sweet Hockey tab will appear on the top navigation.
I cannot see a link to Sweet Hockey?
There are two possible issues –
1. No player has been registered for the upcoming season. Access to Sweet Hockey Training is reserved for current players.
2. You are logged in with a different NGIN account from the one used to register the player. Permission to Sweet Hockey is granted to registered players according to the NGIN account used to complete the registration.
Why do I see more than one link to the Video Library for different Levels of Play?
The multiple levels of play will appear for each player in your family. Select the appropriate level for the player watching videos.
How do I go back and view a previous drill series?
On the top right corner of the video player is a dropdown labeled ‘Series’. It defaults to the current assignment. Use the dropdown to select any previous videos.
What is ‘Chat with Lance’?
You can leave comments and questions for Lance Pitlick, the developer of Sweet Hockey. He will generally leave posts or replies on a daily basis. This comment stream is accessible by all the organizations on the NGIN platform that are utilizing Sweet Hockey Training.
Where are the practice plans?
The plans are printable PDF’s that can be found on the left navigation of the Sweet Hockey Training module. Select the corresponding level (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced) and series number. Print and practice!
I forgot my password?
All passwords are encrypted – even from NGIN employees.
To reset the password, click on Login at the top of the website and then on ‘Forgot Your Password’. Enter the account username or primary email. The system will automatically send a password reset.
I don’t know what the primary email is on my NGIN account?
An admin from your organization can look up the account username and primary email.
How do I see Novice, Intermediate and Advanced videos?
To start the season, the video player is set for Novice with the start date of Sept. 1. New drill assignments are released weekly. When the players are ready to move up a level, a representative from the organization will let NGIN know to add it. This structure is set up so coaches can keep the players focused on the assigned drills and keep them moving forward in a progressive manner.
