Q. WHY THE CHANGE?
A. After three years of our Safety Meeting, we decided to change things up! The best part of these events has always been how LOUD the room gets as everyone reconnects, laughs and hangs out together. And, as we’ve learned, that makes a formal program pretty tough!
So this year, we’re leaning into what everyone seems to enjoy most—and skipping the rest. No formal program, no live auction and no Fund-a-Need. Just a great night together.
We hope you’ll join us for The First Shift and support OYHA by participating in our community silent auction. It’s our new take on fundraising—and a chance for everyone in the community to participate, whether or not you’re able to attend the event.
Q. WHERE IS THE EVENT LOCATED?
A.Wayzata Country Club. We can't match the cost and capacity anywhere else and we want plenty of room to socialize!
Q. IF IT IS AT A COUNTRY CLUB, WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
A. This is a casual event - jeans are admired!
Q. WHAT'S THE GAME PLAN FOR THE FIRST SHIFT?
A. No formal program, no live auction and no Fund-a-Need. Buy your ticket and come for appetizers and drinks. Our silent auction will be open from Sunday September 20th at 9:00 am to Thursday September 24th at 9:00 pm.
Q. WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY TICKET PRICE?
A. One drink ticket and appetizers. Additional drinks may be purchased through drink tickets we sell at the event.
Q. WHAT DOES THE MONEY GO TOWARDS?
A. Financial scholarships, player development programs, loaner equipment for new skaters and goalies, and support for Morrison Arena.
